Long hair never ends for the women of Country. That fact makes shorter hair stand out even more!
Top winners of the night wore the trademark look for female country music singers–long, longer and longer. Entertainer of the Year, Taylor Swift DID mix it up a little by going mostly straight with her mane and bangs. By adding volume and a little wave to the smooth style, Taylor created a one-of-a-kind Country Style. Meanwhile Best Album of the Year winner, Miranda Lambert chose the full upsweep that’s served her well through myriad awards nights. Ms. Lambert (Shelton) wears her hair back but leaves the front loose. Long side bangs and released ringlets compliment the softened updo. Later in the night, Miranda let her hair down and posed with another long-haired beauty, Laura Bell Bundy, who wore a curly pony with side bangs. Fan fave and American Idol Carrie Underwood looked like her normal self in gorgeous curls swept over a bare shoulder.
Only two hairstyles shown here are not long. The daring (and darling) stars are Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolia. Jennifer’s hair mid-length, in a loose pony, shined as usual. Meghan’s famous short cut took on yet another style: smoothed back behind a headband. Worn this way the crop looked like a bob. One blogger grouped Meghan with the worst-dressed celebs of the evening, describing her as a white snowbird in a fluffy dress. Can you believe that?! We’re never seen her looking anything other than pretty. Truly she doesn’t need trendy fashions to distinguish her from a bevy of beauties.
Getting back to the long-haired celebs, they included, Hillary Scott (left), Kimberly Perry (blonde below) and Sara Evans (brunette below). Hillary and Kimberly went curly and Sara wore her go-to straight style.
That just about sums up this post, but we’re planning to follow up with other notes from the ACM awards. (One such observation: the couple of celebs who struck the Angelina-like pose from the Academy Awards earlier this year.)
*More about the ACM winners: Taylor Swift walked away with Best Entertainer for the second year in a row. Miranda Lambert nabbed Top Female Vocalist and Top Album for Four the Record. Hillary Scott’s Lady Antebellum took Top Vocal Group. In a later post, we’ll cover the hairstyle of Kelly Clarkson who, with Jason Aldean, rated Single Record and Vocal Event.
