Different shades of blond, same kind of pose
Stars copying their predecesors is nothing new, but entertainment writers make it seem that way when referring to Rita Ora and Rihanna. The first “R” has even been called The British Rihanna. While they don’t look exactly alike, they have similar tastes such as low-cut gowns, little tats on their left sides and long blond curls. As for the differences, their light haircolors are not the same here: Rita poses in a Marilyn-like platinum and RiRi wears a hard-to-define blond all her own. The texture varies, too. Rita’s hair is smooth and polished and Rihanna’s full and loose!
Their blond hair color and Beanies are nearly the same!
Earlier this year, the singers were photographed in trendy Beanies and bleached blond. Since then Rita has topped the Vodafone Big Top 40 for a second week with her debut single R.I.P. Hence, the continued comparisons between Rita and the global superstar.
While their cat eyes are not identical, is their hair color?
It’s hard to tell, because these images are captured in different settings. Rihanna’s hair has a hint of butter color, but that may be due to the natural lighting.
In the end, these questions aren’t important. It’s not a crime to emulate famous names from the past. Just think of all the women who have tried to look like Marilyn Monroe: Madonna, Christina Aguielera, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Michelle Williams and many more actresses.
What’s more interesting is whether Rita will continue to be labeled the new Rihanna and whether she will end up with a fraction of RiRi’s fame!

After a long Mommy break, Christina Aguilera made up for lost time with an emotional performance on the American Idol finale (she was just one of many big-name stars who turned out for the big-time show). Meanwhile, the famous platinum blonde is working on a movie Burlesque and promoting her new Bionic LP. Between all of this, the working mom doesn’t have much time for music rehearsals. That’s the reason she’s giving for cancelling a tour that was supposed to start in July.
Burlesque is Christina’s first live-action movie (animated Shark Tale doesn’t count!). As its name suggests, the new movie revolves around a Cabaret-like club in LA. Ms. Aguilera should have no problem playing a small-time girl with a stunning voice trying to make it big in Hollywood. True to format, the fictional star-wannabe will have all her dreams come true (in a couple of hours!) The neo-burlesque club seems like it’s been picked up from Bob Fosse’s Cabaret.
Unless the hairstyles are totally remade for today, the singer-turned-actress already wears the kind of retro looks to match the character. A sleek, thick bob (above) is truly timeless, and could be “done” to fit any era. Another of her ageless styles is a polished, smooth chignon with baby bangs. The updo looks tailor-made for a show girl… with fiery lips, kittenish eyes and expressive makeup. Now comes the bombshell–white-hot curls a la Marilyn Monroe. In coifs like this, Christina reminds us of the young Marilyn Monroe who (like her movie character) came from a small town seeking fame and fortune! Though mostly known as a blond bimbo and struggling actress, Marilyn wanted to be a singer. She worked hard on it and was surprisingly good when she sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to JFK Sr.
In short, there’s no question about it: Christina Aguilera will definitely look the part in Burlesque!
Who says baby bangs are just for little girls? Beauty critics and their old-fashioned followers. They think 8 is the age limit for wearing super short bangs.
Katy Perry and Krysten Ritter could care less. Katy shows she’s more than a young singer by doing what she wants. Meanwhile super short bangs are the first thing you notice about Krysten… if you haven’t seen her acting on TV (Breaking Bad) or in movies (She’s Out of My League).
The baby fringe goes in and out of style, but really stands out when they’re off season. The main ones who should say “No” to the look are those who want to hide their eyes, lips or anything about their face. Even older women can wear a variation of these babies. You might want to avoid pitfalls like the one Christina Aguilera took a few years back.
