First, she’s way-better-than-good as an actor, currently starring in The Good Wife. Julianna Margulies’ first claim to fame was a “little” primetime show called ER. (We loved the show for many reasons, namely because it was set in Chicago, our hometown, but also for George Clooney and other easy-on-the-eyes guys who worked in the “hospital”!). At the same time Julianna garnered critical acclaim for her good girl, gone bad role on The Sopranos. Add to that her part in the movie Snakes on a Plane and you are looking at an actress with incredible range. Before we start talking about her hair, we have to point out that Ms. Margulies is a good role for girls with a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence college and time spent paying her dues (as a waitress*) before hitting the big time.
Now…about her hair. One PR agency says Julianna’s raven-colored ringlets are her trademark. We wonder about that stereotype when you consider everything else about her. Sure she wore pretty curls for quite a while, but lately Julianna has grown our her mane and let loose! Both styles are wearable in real life. The first works best on curls that look pretty good when air dried (that’s how we would wear it most of the time). To polish the curly locks use a volumizing product and diffused blow drier, scrunching continuously until hair’s thoroughly dry. If you want, pin one side back and push the other forward. The long look isn’t as hard as you might think. Blow dry, brushing the crown smooth and using a jumbo-sized round brush on the length. If you want more curl, do a quick set on jumbo rollers. Leave hair alone for 10 minutes after taking out the curlers. Gently brush the waves and finger into place. For hard-to-hold hair, try a light holding spray.
*She recently talked about serving Julia Roberts and that the Pretty Woman star “is lovely when you’re not waiting on her.”
